Simple Vegan Hummus
- 2 cups cooked garbanzo beans
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1-2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
- ¼-1/2 warm water
You are welcome to copy this recipe and add it among your favorite vegan hummus recipes. To start, saute onions and garlic in water. In a food processor, add garbanzo beans, sautéed onions and garlic, salt and grapeseed oil. Blend in the food processor and add the water slowly until you reach the consistency you want.
Good call to sauté the onions and garlic. I’ve made bean dips in the past, and putting them in raw has just never worked, regardless of how fine you blend it up. The flavor is just too sharp and sautéing is a good way to tone it down a little. Excited to try this.
